Welcome to the Table!
“Oh, you’re the wino our friend told us about!” he said upon our introduction. While awkwardly replying, “That’s what she’s calling me these days?” a wave of mixed emotions roll over me starting with embarrassment and, curiously, ending in a sense of pride. After all, I am enrolled at the Northwest Wine Academy. Surely this legitimizes the drinking. It’s not really drinking when there is spitting involved, anyway, right? It’s true, I spit while wine tasting. Who would’ve thought? Yet, in this new world I’m exploring it seems to make me appear professional.
This new world brings with it fun adventures and the pursuit of a balanced life filled with my passions: friends, wine, food…..and a well decorated table. I am fortunate to have friends who embrace our “experimental” dinners typically involving new preparations and uncertain wine pairings. Although sometimes the end result doesn’t lead up to a perfect dish or an ideal pairing, we always enjoy ourselves. This blog chronicles these adventures at the table, as well as the numerous sources of influence behind them.
My name is Nancy. I live in Seattle with my husband, Roger, a sweet man with a great sense of humor who waits patiently to eat while I photograph our food. Thanks for joining us at our table while we pursue the ultimate food and wine pairings.
